who was able to go into a full trance mediumship and give voice

Cora Hatch's contribution of service to the United States of America.
As Cora L.V. Tappan (Hatch is Cora's maiden name) she received
from the White House under President Ulysses S. Grant a Resolution
of Gratitude for her service of 6 years for giving benefit to the
United States in difficult times. Cora moved to Washington D.C.

in 1865. (Before the Assassination of President Lincoln)              
She was very well known to President Lincoln's Party;
many member would seek her advice on the crisis of the day
(the war).  When President Lincoln's Vice President Andrew
Johnson, became the new President, Cora's mediumship advice
was sought daily by many of the Senators of the opposition party, often many times daily.
Later being very appreciative of her advice,
President Ulysses S. Grant sought Cora's advice throughout
his first term of office. Bestowed A Resolution of Gratitude.

In 1882 Cora L.V. Richmond (divorced & remarried)
Gave her famous trance address: "A Message to the Nation"
on the 24th Feb 1883. The trance address was delivered through her
by the spirit of the 20th U.S. President James A. Garfield, who was
assassinated less than 2 years earlier in July 1881.

It is this bloggers belief that higher spiritualism is to bring higher
truths followed up by facts to give credibility to the spirit speaking
through the trance medium.
